I’m super excited for this weekend!!

Gatsby Prompt

Jay Gatsby is an interesting individual. Some would argue he is living “the American dream,” some would argue otherwise. He has all of these luxurious objects that people would die for. I think he is, but isn’t living “the American dream.”
Gatsby has a huge mansion that is filled to the brim when he has all of these astonishing parties. So many people are rather impressed when they see the inside of this house. The people are catered to while at gatsby’s parties by his servants. Gatby’party is where you want to be and he is who you want to be.
On the other hand, even though he has the house, the car, and the amazing parties, he is lonely. “The American Dream” is to have fancy objects and have loving  and caring people surrounding him. After all of his parties are over, he is in his ginormous house all alone in the dark once again. What is the point in having fancy cars and a mansion if you have no one to share it all with?
In conclusion, Gatsby has the house and the cars everyone wants. He also has the loneliness and sad emotions everyone dreads. So wether or not that’s “The American Dream” I’m not sure.
